A WCS is being developed external to the DataFed environment to provide an autonomous service with which to demonstrate interoperability. The WCS is being developed using a combination of open source tools (UMN MapServer) and custom development for cases where existing WCS tools are inadequate (e.g. point coverages, hypercubes).
