With new extension it is now possible to export structured part of the dataset page (tags, attributes...). This means that the RDF.xml metadata of a given page can be used by other clients. In many cases, the format of the clients desired feeds are different from the wiki page RDF feed. Therefore a generic translator (XML style sheet?) can be used to map one XML feed format to another.

[edit] Breakthrough or Workaround?

As long as all of the tags in the RDF feed are identified in a .xsl document, and the .rdf document is saved not as an .rdf but as a generic .xml, it can be converted to general HTML. For example, please see the following:

• .xsl document containing required tags and HTML instructions (makes a table) XSL
• Original .rdf document referencing .xsl(doesn't work) RDF
• Same document, although now saved as .xml (works) XML

Frontpage was used to design a html table much like the "Facts About" box on various provider wiki pages, which was then pasted into the AirnowWikiFormat5.xsl file and pointers to the original AIRNOW14.xml were added. The resulting "virtual" (meaning browser-only viewable) HTML looks rather like the box on the wiki page.

[edit] Turning "Virtual" HTML into "Concrete" HTML

1. From web browser display, highlight desirable portion (i.e. all) and elect to "Copy"
2. Open a new page in Microsoft FrontPage and select "Design View"
3. Elect to Paste
4. Switch to "Code View"

Voila! It's all there, in its watered down HTML glory! Awesome.
