[edit] Background

  • Style sheets have been created and are being used to transform the RDF metadata into a specified metadata format, which is then registered to different catalogs
  • It has become necessary to add more metadata information to the wiki so that the style sheet can extract more information from the RDF, in order to make the transformation process more automated
  • In addition to adding new attributes with a specific value, some attributes have a range of possible values, and will need drop down lists

[edit] Wiki Update

  • Steps completed:
    1. We have been experimenting by adding new attributes to a dataspace, and verifying their appearance in the RDF feed
    2. More metadata information is also being added to the wiki by extracting the metadata from datafed
    3. Style sheets are able to extract values from the updated dataspace's RDF feed
  • Steps in progress:
    1. Determine how to link attributes to other attributes
      • For example, when choosing Datafed WCS, the format names GEOTIFF, netCDF, CSV, KML are populated
    2. Determine how to have multiple selections for a single attribute
      • For example, datasets are typically described by multiple science keywords
    3. Create new attribute fields on the wiki form, so that the user can 'edit with form'
