Title: DatFed at EPA Natioanl Monitoring Conference, Nashville

DataFed is a federated data system for accessing browsing and analyzing air quality-related data. The components of DataFed are (1) catalog for finding air quality-related datasets; (2) standards-based infrastructure for accessing distributed datasets and (3) tools for data browsing the analysis. The session will cover: DataFed overview; List and live illustration of federated datasets, DataFed browsing tools through interactive spatial maps, time charts and other data views; tools for data and analysis; methods for extracting and locally saving data for further analysis; Application examples for air quality analysis. A demonstration will show the potential and past application of the tools for and Exceptional Event (EE) analysis by a State Agency.

Topics will provide an overview of the data validation process and demonstrations of the tools you can use to identify outliers and mistakes in your datasets. Training will also cover data analysis tools that will help you answer questions regarding the air quality in your area including new web based tools such as DataFed.net, and Air Explorer
