Tagging
From Datafedwiki
Tagging is a way to group resources after they are on the web.
Tagging adds fields to a database and allows queries to be made across the database.
Using a common tag within a group allows for two-way transfer... Communication with tags? (Collaborative list curation)
- Speaking is writing tags/creating new tags
- hearing means reading tags and noticing how they are applied.
- Feedback - Who else tagged this link? What did they say? what tags did they use?
- Capturing set of links used for each activity, one piece of metadata.
- unique tags for a project, tags that mean a certain origin (i.e. came from jon's blog), date tag
- twitter inspired via:person to tell where something came from
- system:media:audio gives all mp3 links
- Tagging future-proofs (concept came up in class) as you add more bookmarks tagged a certain way they will automatically show up in the wiki.
Infoworld has one account with multiple editors... we have multiple accounts with one editor each. Is there a benefit to having a dedicated account for the class? Controlled Tagging
