[edit] Delicious integration
[edit] What makes Del.icio.us Different
Del.icio.us allows third party users to add tags. Also allows query/RSS output of multiple tags both by certain user and by entire community. Is content neutral.
Other tag services only tag specific types of content. They don't allow you tag other people's content, cannot query multiple tags, limited RSS output.
Create a workspace-specific tag (e.g. Workspace:WorkspaceName), all community-members can tag with this single tag and then few moderators can add additional tags for organization.
Web 2.0 software/mashable software have a single purpose Example: Delicious is a good tagger of web objects - open API for database maintance, rss feed, geotagging, community/social tagging "folksonomy". Geotagging is a matter of discipline - any web app that can tag, can also geotag. Conclusion: Use Del.icio.us as first geotagging method in our system
Use Del.icio.us to tag wiki pages and create a "record" Use Bundle in Del.icio.us as hierarchical structure ex. OGC > GSN > Demo > Beijing in BeijingDemo Conclusion - Tag structuring: tags can be ordered into hierarchies either by "bundling" parent/child tags (e.g. OGC(parent of) GSN). Alternatively, tag relationships can be encoded in external relationships e.g. dependency trees such that GSN is part of OGC hierarchy. However, GSN can also be part of a GEOSS or any other hierarchy.
